After I read WANTED's story, I trully understoond why many artists worldwide choose to stay as an unsigned act and march on independently in order to make their work acknowledgeable. Once began as a promising Hard Rock / Glam Metal band in the flow of the late 80s flourishing American scene, WANTED's future was toasted by the end of relations between them (their management) and their "could be" label, Geffen Records. After that incident, nothing new was released from WANTED.However, Eonian Records, as other labels of their kind, made a find tribute to what could have been a successful Glam Metal band, by collecting recorded tracks, studio & live, from the band's short lived career. That collection was named by one of the band's songs, "Too Hot To Handle".

If you know your, let's call it, Hair Metal, it will be easily figured out that WANTED did what almost everybody else in that type of scene did in that time. Additionally, WANTED added sleaze in a respectable level to their material in order to make it a bit more sexy as it was similarly displayed in WHITESNAKE, WARRENT & GUNS N' ROSES, nevertheless not letting go of chunk of vibrating heaviness & sonic solo breaks al'a the latter bands with the addition of early SKID ROW. It is a shame that from all those elements nothing fruitful really came out but this lone compilation. Well, at least we have this one as a good memory. "Too Hot To Handle" is from hard to the core themes of everyday life, chicks, sex and alcoholic good time to the outstanding playing ability of the performers as those were bred by the free spirit of Rock N' Roll. Some great examples of ordinary Glam Rockin' bash as "Whiskey & Woman", "Blue Jean Baby", "Too Hot To Handle" & "Another Day", step up to the plate of a lost talent and another addition to the 'could have been' club. Alongside those tunes, Eonian Records added various of live tracks never recorded on studio by WANTED. Nevertheless, their quality ain't so hot so I think their addition could have been avoided as it somewhat turned this compilation to of a bit downward kind of state.

I think it is a drag what happened to WANTED, however their case isn't the only one around. As I mentioned earlier, at least we have this memory of them that can teach the newcomers a lesson about the business. Other than that, it's a good dislplay of Hair Metal, go fetch your "Too Hot To Handle"!
