This is the fifth album from the super group W.E.T. Which is an acronym standing for band members from three different bands. W is Work Of Art (Robert Sall & Andreas Passmark), E is Eric Martensson & Marcus Henriksson (Eclipse) and finally completing the line up T is Jeff Scott Soto & Jamie Borger (Talisman).Four years since the last album ”Retransmission” which is due to the band members having free time in their calendar due to recording and touring with their respective bands and side projects, with also Jeff living in California and the five other members living in Sweden.

After a four year wait ”Believer” kicks off ”Apex” with a bang the crunching guitar riffs combined with the heavy melodic melody & guitar solo, stellar vocals from Soto classic W.E.T. ”This House Is On Fire” sees vocal duties shared by Jeff & Eric and this is such a punchy, addictive track with a big anthemic chorus ear worm stuff very addictive.”What Are We Fighting For” is modern melodic rock with elements of folk slowing the tempo a little, great sing a long chorus with a great guitar solo from Marcus Henriksson.”Love Conquers All” is another slower number but it is a huge number with the massive chorus and harmonies.

”Where Are The Heroes Now” is an explosive number with the duel vocals, gritty riffs, the pounding drum beat, powerful lyrics with one hell of a powerful chorus, for me one of the tracks of the year.”Breaking Up” has some scorching guitar work, superb vocals from Mr.Soto, ”Nowhere To Run” again the vocals are impeccable, the track has groove,a slick transition into the chorus with some scorching guitar riffs and solo.”Pay Dirt” is the weakest on the album although it sounds great the verses and choruses don't go together for me  but still great vocals and melody.”Pleasure & Pain” is another slower ballad style track which is superb in every way and ticks all the boxes that you would expect from a track of this calibre.”Stay Alive” is a track which is another great punchy track which sounds very much like a Eclipse Number.”Day By Day” is a track full of energy ending the album with momentum and a feel good factor classic W.E.T. ,to bring this album to a conclusion.

Apex” was definitely worth the four year wait for new material from W.E.T. ,a super group who deliver superb modern, contempary Melodic Rock. The band line up just shows the high calibre of musicians in this genre, when brought together can deliver Melodic excellence with excellent production from the super talented Eric Martensson. ”Apex” is no exception,a solid album for 2025.Highly recommended and a must have album for 2025.
