Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: VRYKOLAKAS; signed via Dark Blasphemies Records; hailing from Singapore grounds - performing Brutal Death Metal, on their 3rd album entitled: "And Vrykolakas Brings Chaos And Destruction" (released July 1st, 2021).
Since formation in 1991; the trio in question have 5 Demos, 2 EPs; 4 Splits, 1 Compilation & 3 Full-Length Albums in their discography so far. I'm introduced to their 3rd album entitled: "And Vrykolakas Brings Chaos And Destruction". 8 tracks ranging at around 49:44; VRYKOLAKAS arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Brutal Death Metal developments.
Opening up with a fading crescendo; a blistering but bruising fabrication outbursts with vivacious savagery, monolithic tempos skyrocket with profane inhumanity as "Silkhannas Falls From Grace" trailblazes with primitively raw ramifications on viciously steamrolling reverberation that rumbles with slaying grinds and drum cymbal smacks that revel with sulfurous trembles while these quaking onslaughts unleashes striking pursuits with ruthless pandemonium. Clobbering intensely with mountainous extremity; building into a barrage frenzy of radically wicked tonalities which surmises sinister embrace, attributing at a boisterously bouncy calamity in brutal gravitation and gnarly distortion - distinguishing a borderline foundation in weighty tightness & jumpiness punchiness that will rattle skulls in no time.
Consisting of Khairil on guitars/vocals; the frontman excels at wildly rushing substance where rapidly nimble organics shred with technical skill, while potently vibrant soars lacerate with killer dexterity. Dynamic bombardments bulldozes with punishing blows, deep guttural growls and raspy throatiness while polarising mayhem pierces through you with maximum impact. "Kaf-Fa-Ra" demonstrates fierce firepower furocity as sturdy thuds revolve sonically with relentlessly seamless vehemence, utilising shrieking rifts & rambunctiously pildriving stomps from Edi who slams the set with steely precision while thumpy bass audibility from Andy also contributes an empowering slab of solid crunchiness as grunty deadliness within "Yajuj Majuj Versus The World" which stampedes with rampaging contortion. Crafting a frolicking flickers in galloping hostility, where viciously volatile virulence smears speakers with pugnacious grooves and hammeringly driven grittiness concretely breaks necks with smacking malevolence.
"The Dajjal Brings Chaos" dominates a deathly progression on ominously jarring melody, swerving with foreboding harmonies where malicious snappiness charges a fundamentally flexible perseverance on persistent chisels and bludgeoning veracity perpetuates searing retribution that possesses an inner satan within you to break chairs over other chairs. Arming a brimming overdose on rampantly rompy thrashiness, "The Storms And The Shadows" snares with extreme aggression and belting smears of rollicking virtuosities while revving with systematic smotherings on roundhousing kicks which quintessentially pummels eardrums explosively imploding into a berserking maelstrom of increasing heat.
"The Jasad On The Throne" one-two pounds with furious holocausto; blasting beats inject an infectiously blasphemous contrast in venomous vigour, where nothing but ear bombing stridency meticulously surges with outrageous percussion on beefy grovelling & treading severity. While the penultimate track "Transcending The Quantum Realm Of Barzakh" harnesses a blazing spectrum of maniacal trance, rolling with piercing shrieks & titanic malignance where powerful songwriting musicianship transforms with monstrously meaty manifest on towering unholiness which will destroy all disciples of the christ illusion unapologetically.
Overall concluding "And Vrykolakas Brings Chaos And Destruction"with the finishing crusher: "Seven Steps Above Six Feet Under"; I am compelled to say that VRYKOLAKAS most definitely outdone themselves with this one, gym going will surely drip sweat from your decaying carcasses. An enjoyably entertaining discovery which will serve greatly for your violent needs for headbanging insanity tenfold, worthy of spinning & replaying a good handful of times - do check it out.
