Undead are a Swedish Death Metal band formed in 2015 with a horror vibe who released their debut 7" "Blood Enemy" in 2015,a year later releasing their debut EP "Redemption".It was 2019 before Undead released their debut full length album "Existential Horror".Then in 2023 the follow up album "Putrefactio" was released,which was then followed by a European tour with bands such as Marduk,Valkyrja & Impalement.Undead are well known for their horror influences,their old school Death Metal with a fresh twist & intensity.The EP was produced by Swedish Extreme Metal legend Dan Swano.

The Ep clocks in at just over 15 minutes, the title track "This Side Of The Grave" opens this EP with a ferocious intensity,a fast barrage and onslaught of double pedal drums,fast distorted riffs and the growling & intense vocals."Samsara" justs carries on that vicious momentum of raw aggressive energy ,midtrack a bit of fretboard trickery breaks the track up which leads to a more mellow break before ending with a barrage of drum skills & technicality."I Am The Curse" has some great harmonising guitar duality before another onslaught of double bass breakdowns,which drops to allow for a spoken word narrative towards the end of the track.The EP concludes with the most vicious & nasty track and my favourite track of the EP "Blood Enemy" its fast,intense and just brutal in every way imaginable.

"This Side Of The Grave" is a short but sweet barrage of gory horror,raging,aggressive & brutal Death Metal.I must confess that this is my introduction to Death Metal and I must admit its pretty good.If I have a bad day and I'm full of anger, this will be played loud for the 15 plus minutes it lasts then I will be happy again as my rage will be gone!
