Trouble - Live In Los Angeles album cover

Not much to say when it comes to one of the best Doom Metal bands that have ever walked on this planet. TROUBLE strike once again, but this time something seems to be different. Oh, wait! Don't tell me that you still haven't heard the news! Hmmm, let's have a short briefing then...

It has been a while since the band's original frontman Eric Wagner left the band, something I can't explain since the band reunited only a few (really few) years ago. Anyway, the Chicago Doom act found a replacement rather soon, with WARRIOR SOUL's singer Kory Clarke grabbing the microphone. This release is their way to present their new line up and nothing more as they say.

I am sorry but they don't convince me with cheap excuses like this. They are already working on their new album and in my humble opinion this should be their way of presenting their new singer and not a live album. First of all, the market has been flooded by live albums, and if you are not a band like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN or METALLICA, I doubt that you will sell more copies than what you expect. Secondly, the sound quality is not the best I have ever come across in a live album. Not that it sucks, but it could surely be better. And I don't want to hear stupid stuff like it retains Franklin's filthy guitar sound etc.

Last but not least, I strongly believe that Mr. Clarke is a gifted singer and a great frontman, but listening to him singing Wagner's vocal lines... Well, he just doesn't fit the band. At least regarding the old songs. I hope he can do great with the new tunes they've been preparing. Time will tell, until then, I will be waiting for their new album since this live release is not something I would die for.
