Travers & Appice - Live At The House Of Blues album cover

The above three men are part of the living history of Rock 'n' Roll (in general). Browse to their official sites, see the works they've been up to all these years and judge for yourselves. Still, this review has more to do with 'musician's delight' issues than with the music itself - hence, the length.
Carmine Appice can be considered as the father of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal drumming. Credited with bands like VANILLA FUDGE, CACTUS, JEFF BECK, TOMMY BOLIN, ROD STEWART, TED NUGENT, KING COBRA and BLUE MURDER, his portfolio brings total owe to anyone 'into' drum kits. PAT TRAVERS, in oppose, has limited - or no - appearance in bands/projects other none his own. Still, his 'raw' playing boasting a unique technique lets him be ranked among fellow 70s/80s guitar wizards such as Michael Schenker or Frank Marino (to give you an idea). Last but not least, T.M. Stevens' works with none others than JOE COCKER, TINA TURNER, JAMES BROWN, BILLY JOEL and STEVE VAI surely depict a part of his virtuosity. So far, so good...
...so what? This: Live At The House Of Blues sees the chemistry of these three perfect musicians raising fire in the club's roof, via tunes from the TRAVERS & APPICE project plus bonus 'goodies' including a thunderous take of the ROD STEWART classic Do Ya Think I/m Sexy. The energy is apparent, the instrumentation is faultless, the Myrtle Beach, USA crowd is vivid enough and heavy Blues/Rock music celebrates the phenomenal on-stage implementation of ideal melodies and untreated energy.
Crash And Burn - a PAT TRAVERS classic - and a BECK/BOGART/APPICE stunning Living Alone version holds for the whole album! Enough said: fans of the music of musicians (you know whatcha mean...) will love this one. This solid rock performance comes on DVD too (in the same package , I think). Still thinkin' about it?
