Trastorned - Into The Void album cover

Santiago, Chile's TRASTORNED has been together since 2008. Their latest, "Into The Void", is a little more complex than most of their previous demos. The progression of the lineup has moved everything forward and their debut album is now upon us. Let's see what they have put together.  "Witch Hunt" leads the way. The screaming of burning witches welcomes you in the beginning to a Thrash sound that is a shade darker than the typical. It has a nice mix of old school guitar work to accompany the traditional sound. You could close you eyes and feel like you are in the Bay Area listening to a band in the 1980's. For anyone that likes and needs something new in this specific genre, this one has a good vibe and I would say mission accomplished with their obvious intentions. It is nothing that you haven't heard before, but it is solid in its attempt to represent and do what they love on their local scene.

"Miasma Of Death", picks it up a notch. The speed is there and the talent is blatantly obvious with the solo that they have thrown down on this one. All of the songs have been unique and stand alone in style and sound so far, but I do believe that this one is my favorite. It is a screamer! I will be sure to give it another listen after these eight have played out. We slow it down for the first time with "Dreadful Fate". This acoustic interlude changes the mood drastically, but sounds great. I was just getting into my groove though. I think that it would be better at the end, even the beginning, because it is so opposite to the mood that the first five songs put me in. I really liked it, it just threw me briefly off course to where I had been going. I wasn't ready for an interlude, lol, maybe if there were twelve songs and not just eight. Sometimes you need a break from the chaos, but the crazy has been good up until this point.  I'd rather go with the flow instead of taking a cigarette break after just arriving.

"Reborn Through Hate", has a great grind to it after starting out with some fancy bass work. The drums have been on point throughout , there are not any weak links in this band and everyone is still shining through. They do what they do and they do it well. All in all, I find this one a solid debut that they can be proud of.
