Dirty & Divine
Thundermother

Reborn, revitalised and ready to rock ‘n’ roll, Thundermother are back with a deafening bang. Two years on from the release of their last studio album “Black & Gold”, the Swedish quartet have completed work on a follow-up and are primed to explode all over again. A blistering onslaught of loud, proud and groovy hard rock, “Dirty & Divine” marks the start of a new era for Thundermother and the recorded debut of two new members: frontwoman Linnéa Vikström and drummer Joan Massing. Bigger, bolder and more dynamic than ever before, the Swedes return as an upgraded and re motivated force.
I have heard a few Thundermother tracks before, which were great so I was looking forward to reviewing the new album with the new personnel changes. A bold start to this album a deep bass groove ,infectious guitar riff found in opener “So Close” with a superb catchy chorus, with some electric vocals from newcomer Linnéa Vikström.”Can't you put out the fire” the title just says it all ,a solid melody, cool harmonies, a superb feel good rock n' roll track, party anthem, and man those vocals are electric! ”Speaking Of The Devil” fast paced, high octane with attitude, great guitar solo ,great chorus, ”Feeling Alright” a short but sweet track ,a rocker but less tempo ,the vocals and harmonies blend effortlessly ,tight rhythm, great guitar solo and riffs with the main riff reminding me of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by the legendary Pat Benatar.
”Take The Power” again that deep bass the backbone of the track, catchy riffs with a catchy melody, pure heavy rock n' roll done the Thundermother way, sassy & bucket loads of attitude. Majsan Lindberg has a cool way of delivering a great bassline which is so infectious no more so than in “I Want A Licence In The Future” ,”Dead Or Alive” also packs one hell of a punch Joan Massing delivering some cool work on the drums, some pounding rhythms consistent through this album. ”Can You Feel It” has an AC/DC vibe about it if AC/DC were females this is how it would sound, the vocals and melody are so strong, tight and united. ”Bright Eyes” is again loud, brash and a rocker that kicks arse! ”American Adrenaline” is such a strong rocker to finish this album with, it's just as good as previous tracks with all the right attributes.
Thundermother “Dirty & Devine” is an album of rock n' roll which you need to turn up loud , it's electric, it's full of energy which is delivered with conviction and Girl Power! . I absolutely love a great female rock singer/group, Linnéa Vikström is that great female rock singer her voice is so good, it must be one of the best I have heard for a very long time, backed by 3 super talented female musicians to make Thundermother a force to be reckoned with. This album comes with a very high recommendation from me.
