Thlipsis music are black metal, but the lyrics, and so many other things, belongs to the thrash metal genre. "Servants of Apathy" the opening track has everything you could ask for and really raw black metal, at the first listening. But, 2-3 listening, you hear a lot of emotions. I can't help it, but I think to start about the 80s later Thrash metal, like Kreator, Nuclear Assault. So I have to check up, what I can find about this band. And there is a lot of depth."Servants of Apathy" explores the growing apathy of modern society. How disconnected we've, become from the realities of Impoverishment, War, and the Collapse of our Communities. A Rotten Socio-political construction of Depression, Isolation and recreational Indifference giving birth to a creature of Obedience, a standing corpse, the last man…They want to provoke, make you think, kick some *ss. You either hate it or love it. This band could not care less.

"Lament Of A Dying Land" start's melodic, and you get a feeling of Folk music and the guest musician: Achilleas Kalantzis who play the keys, adds a lot to this track. The calm before the storm, cause same anger, and fury as in "Servants of Apathy" comes in like a storm, I really like it. This track is mighty. It has a red line inside it, and everything is so connected. It is not that often, a song really gets you like this. I have been searching for lyrics, but can't find any. But this band, makes a statement, on their Bandcamp side. And let me be very clear. I, as a reviewer, can only review. Metal Temple, as a magazine, don't stand for any Political or religious views. And I, myself, follow that line. It would be impossible, to do reviews, or even have an online magazine, if we have to check up the lyrics. Metal is a lot about provoke.

(This EP is dedicated to the ongoing struggle of the Palestinian People, who despite decades of continuous Displacement, Impoverishment, Genocide and War Crimes Concealment, continue to resist and fight for Freedom and Independence… To the thousands of innocent women, children and armless men that have and continue being murdered by the IDF in Gaza and West Bank.) And after you read that, you either don't care, because it's all about the music. You stop read this review, or you think that's right. (That is all up to you). The last track on this EP is "Ξυράφια Απελπισίας", it would translate to Razors of Despair. And here the 90s black metal legacy really shine, another fast track, and like the whole EP, it strives towards the more melodic 90s metal. Thlipsis and Servants of Apathy, are, like so much other underground's bands out there, excellent musicians. If you have been following the underground for a while, I think you have noticed, the quality just goes up. It must be really hard, have a band today, and stand out. But this band, does it.
