The Theander Expression came to be in 2013 as a solo project by Swedish guitarist Andree Theander.The debut album “Strange Nostalgia” quickly became a favourite for the avid AOR listeners around the world.This was the first release of original music by Andree since the self released EP “Influence Grind” by his prog rock group Cap Outrun in 2008 who in 2021 reshaped, releasing “High On Deception” in 2021.In 2016 the next album “Wonderful Anticipation" Theander got together with a great line up of Swedish musicians who he knew personally or he was impressed with their work ,names such as Goran Edmann and Christian Eriksson and Work Of Art drummer Herman Furin.Since then there have been two solo releases under his own name.For “Chaos,Dreams & Love” the impressive line up continues with Chandler Mogel (Double Vision & Cap Outrun),Andre Freeman (Ex Lynch Mob & Last In Line and August Rauer (Creye) on vocals.

Kicking off this new album “The Pursuit Of Serenity” is a bright and lively upbeat AOR number keyboard and guitar led with a smooth vocal from Chandler Mogel  & nice harmonies in the anthemic style chorus & a smooth guitar solo.The late 70s and early 80s sounding “Too Many Miles,Too Little Time” has some classic rock guitar riffs with hammond organ touches with a deep bass going on,while next up “ I’m Moving On (Like You)” is an edgier melodic track with some nice galloping guitar riffs with Andrew Freeman delivering a powerful vocal.”Locked Out In The Cold” is a great AOR power ballad with Andree on vocal duties for this number which just wonderfully polished in everyway.”Here And Now” sees the return of that classic rock flavour”A New Strange Kind Of Emotion” is an interesting instrumental composition with a heavy drum presence from the offset with some great guitar playing from Theander,which sets up the second half of the record.

The modern melodic track “Did You Ever Extend To Stay” with some bold guitar work and a stellar vocal from August Rauer frontman of the band Creye who is the right fit to deliver this great track.Another slice of upbeat AOR comes in the form of "Love Song For No One” cool  fast flowing guitars and rhythm make this track an album highlight.A song of heartache with the acoustic guitar led AOR ballad “You Left Me In The Middle Of The Night” with the nice keyboard touches and subtle vocals is a great touch.The album title track ends this album with another very upbeat feel with the lyrics & melodies and the glorious anthemic chorus. “Chaos,Dreams & Love” is another solid release from Theander.The guest vocalists compliment the tracks perfectly suiting their vocal styles.The melodies and musicianship is solid along with great production.AOR/Melodic Rock listeners like myself will greet this album with open arms,another solid release to add to some great AOR/Melodic albums released already this year.“Chaos,Dreams & Love” is released through Pride And Joy Music on 22nd September.
