THE SILVERBLACK have a really interesting mix of industrial-metal I wasn't expecting when I started this review. Nero Argento has his hands in a lot of bands, and wears a lot of hats in the production room. The album is keyboard heavy which is different for most metal music but it does a great supporting role, working with the drums to set a beat or keeping up with some guitar solos. They do an interesting job of blending high, airy tones, and dark gutteral metal. I will definitely be looking for more from THE SILVERBLACK. The opening song has a mechanical sound to the whole track that was really engaging. I don't even like techno sounding industrial-metal to be honest, but this I got into! This namesake intro song, "The Grand Turmoil" has a harsh metal sound that blends with the industrial keyboard and vocals for a cool blending of tones.

"Anymore" has an aggressive theme and profanity almost to excess so I wouldn't recommend this one for family parties but it's a great song for personal listening. "Make it worth the Grime" has a grittier sound that fits the title, setting it apart slightly. "As Good As Dead" has an almost hip-hop style beat that sets a temp for the spoken lyrics for the first few moments. The track "Pyromanservant" definitely brings the fire with its hook and rapid pace. "Fragmentary Blue" chills you out with a stronger industrial sound and distorted mechanical vocals. I think blending of genres is a fascinating way to create all new sounds and bring together people who otherwise stay in their own genre-bubble. All in all, the album has a bigger lean towards techno with the aggression of metal underlying the whole thing. It is definitely a good introduction to the genre if you haven't gotten into it before, and if you already love it then THE SILVERBLACK is a great band to get into.
