Haunted
The Other

Coming all the way from Koln, Germany we have the new album called "Haunted" , which was released back in June 2020, from the horror-punk band THE OTHER. These guys have been going since 2002 and from what I've seen can really put on a live show and this album really catches their energy. We kick things off with "Mark of the Devil" which I get a bit of a MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE vibe from the start. Cool riff during the verse and a real sing along chorus. This opener really shows what this band are all about.
Next is We're all Dead" which shows THE OTHER'S punk side with its very Misfits vibe to it. "Turn it Louder" has a very melodic lead guitar part with a verse that builds to a big sounding chorus. Must say it is a really good song with some killer riffing as the outro fades out.
"Was uns zerstort" is another song with a punk sound and MISFITS vibe. The song is sang in their native language of German and has a very catchy chorus. "1408 & 217", which is a reference to the works of author Stephen King, really shows the lyrical content of a haunting in a home and would make for a real crowd goer. Really loved this song. "Vampire Girl" has this cool lead guitar lick from the start and the song gives off some vibes of the band GHOST with lyrics describing falling in love with a girl who turns out to be a vampire. The intro to the song "Fading Away" also gives you slight GHOST vibes as well which then sort of carries throughout the song. It also has a very uplifting guitar solo and another one of those big choruses that appear often on "Haunting".
"To Hell and Back" gives you this classic rock feel and you can really hear the bass rumble in this one as the bass really shines on this one. "The Silence After the First Show" is the last song on the album and the band are really going out with a bang on this one by once again showing us that dark MISFITS horror-punk feel that the band do so well.
Parts of this album really give you a sense of GHOST mixed with a little bit of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE but then they will throw a song at you with a very MISFITS punk vibe which keeps the listener on their toes. Vocalist sounds like a mix of DANZIG, 69 EYES and GHOST at times. The lyrics are very paranormal and occult themed and the songs are also very fun to listen to as well. Very good album.
