The Lou Gramm Band - The Lou Gramm Band album cover

It's always good to have news from such landmark singers like Lou Gramm. The ex-FOREIGNER frontman, a household name in America for more than three decades now, additionally possesses a respected solo discography all these years; many will also recall his collaboration with Vivian Campbell (DEF LEPPARD, WHITESNAKE, DIO, SWEET SAVAGE) and Bruce Turgon (FOREIGNER, WARRIOR, STEVE STEVENS).
The band assembled by Lou also features his brothers - Ben and Richard - plus two close friends of his in the lineup. The blend, on the other hand, is something that should not take by surprise any fan aware of Gramm's career. Let's say that the The Lou Gramm Band CD - to be released by Frontiers Records in Europe and Spectra Records in America - is more of a collection of bluesy/mild songs. Lou's voice has become deeper, and shows some certain amount of (even more) maturity/emotion. To judge the trackslist as sensational may be somehow exaggerating but - in any way - the compositions are fine for the American Rock/FM Rock likes plus the players fit like a glove to the backing role assigned.
Not even close for the normal hardorcker's/metalhead's standards, the The Lou Gramm Band album - featuring many elements of Christian Rock/Gospel music in surround, too - can apply mostly to rockers or AORsters in their (over) 30s; again, it's good to have Lou Gramm back, especially after having read various rumors/news regarding his family/personal problems from the past few years. Fans of the NY born singer's deeds will probably have another chance to enjoy his touching performance, anyway.

P.S.: Single Vision? Hmmm...
