Sunczar - Bearer Of Light album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: SUNCZAR; signed via Argonauta Records, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Stoner Metal, on their debut album entitled: "Bearer Of Light" (released January 21st, 2022). Since formation in 2020; the quartet in question have only released an EP entitled: "The Unveiling" (released March 27th, 2020), and this here full-length debut album in their discography so far entitled: "Bearer Of Light" of which I am introduced. 8 tracks ranging around 34:02; SUNCZAR arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Stoner Metal developments.

Opening up with this rampantly rompy thud; "In Lux Veritas" belts a clobbering chisel in dense flickers, where sturdy yet sulfurous rhythms rumble with reverberating mellow and blistering harmony. Until the titular track rattles speakers with groovy but redneck-like potency, this rocking rift rivets with a blistering foundation in punchy vibrancy & rollicking chugs in which piledrives with profusely robust tightness amongst a catchy persistence on panache-driven frolics. A flamboyant hybrid excels with synergetic zeal and dexterously dynamic virtuosity, where strong vocal patterns from consisting vocalist Krsto Balic unleashes these pipes of grunty gutturals and uproarious rage that soars with throaty raspiness. While concretely gritty guitar firepower expertise from Alex Vogt rapidly swifts his axe with wildly rushing remedy, shredding perseverance ramifies with uniquely versatile vehemence & organic substance while injecting an infectious groove from audible bassist Wassilios Gouziotis - who brims a progressively technical assault for good measure.

Thumpy weight stomps out with rambunctious yet gnarly distortion as "Apathy For The Spoken" attributes with experimental hooks and hazy calamity, where monolithic tempos venomously revs out with ripping contortion amongst a creative but grumbling inventiveness, amongst fabricating a crunchy bombast in choppy hooks that massively implement an impactful execution in murky sound production sludginess. "Heresy" distills this visionary strikingly, where solid tonality tramples bones and eardrums into a blinding but berserking shroud of mass soaring melody. Synthetic stability quintessentially quakes with salubrious meatiness, especially from hammering drummer Daniel Kirch. This rebellious attitude elements a lot of musical diversities, influencing a hint of METALLICA's "Load" era components while later - CARCASS vocals and instrumentals can be heard in Stoner Metal form, an interesting imagination I have, huh?

"Blackness" manifests with piercing jingles where primitively raw stridency rummages with strutting performance, squealing with groove-laden and heavy richness where you continue imagining a flexible fundamental with modern styles of Metal that most seasoned metalheads will languish in but with toned downed effect in their own signature yet rugged method, respectively - in no time you will just keep on thinking if CROWBAR and a BUCKCHERRY had a baby - SUNCZAR is the result. More Southern-like transparency conjures a distinguished furocity while merging a familiar strife within "Behold Your Savior". While the penultimate track "Through This Hell" surges with sonically seamless trailblazing with some skyrocketing snappiness on top of some mellifluous euphonics in which meticulously grip an atmospheric up tempo with moody shine and ethereal yet silver-lining mobilities.

Overall concluding "Bearer Of Light" with the finishing epic "Back To Shadows", feel good vibes and fuzzy but metallic milestones make sure that this record was designed in favor of putting a big smile upon your face - on top of feeling feverish also. Bottom line; I am compelled to say that SUNCZAR certainly outdone themselves with this one, an enjoyable but entertaining discovery should you fancy a healthy dose of some Stoner Metal sublimity to start your day off rightly with. Worthy of spinning & replaying a good few attempts, do check it out.
