Strident - March Of Plague album cover

Coming to us from Israel is the Thrash Metal Band STRIDENT and their latest release "March of Plague". Now they may be mainly Thrash but they have quite a bit of Death Metal influences mixed in as well. This band is for people that are fans of Old School and New School Thrash. The band was formed in 2004 and they have released one other full length album. The band is comprised of Dmitry Samoylov on Vocals, Metalych on Guitars, Andrey Galchevski on Drums and Artem Apekishev on bass. If you are looking for something to bang your head to, then this album is just for you.

Starting off with the song "No Faith, No War" which is in your face the entire way through, it really sets up the rest of the album. This track is full of shreds and great drum work. It really gives off the 80's Thrash vibe. Up next we have the track "March of Plague" which keeps us going on our journey through this Metal opus. I honestly appreciate that the band stays true to its roots. Nowadays there are a ton of gimmicks in Metal, but this band is having none of that. "Be Metal" is the third song up and it is a really remarkable track. The guitarist goes absolutely insane at a few points which really drew me in. The whole song is written very well and it's a great addition to the album.

"Dirty Blood" slows it down a bit, but only for a little while. Out of nowhere the song kicks in and it's like a sledgehammer to the face. I was expecting it to be a slow interlude but I was very mistaken. "Final Warhead Blast" is the halfway point of the album and this song is fucking intense. It makes me feel like I could take on an entire army by myself and win. Think SLAYER and PANTERA wrote a song together and that would be this song.

The whole album is really damn good and I recommend this for anyone who enjoys Thrash. These guys did a fantastic job and I really enjoyed the last five songs as well, but I will leave those up to your listening pleasure.
