Stormwind - Stargate album cover

I can't believe it guys! I just can't believe it. Your music is very good. Nothing really amazing but very good. I can see that many people worked for that album and with a heart filled up with ice I rate this album with only five points. I'll explain why.

The guys from Storwind play melodic Heavy Metal with the addition of keyboards and other instruments as you can see. Violin, fluet etc. Their music is just fine. They play really good melodic heavy metal with a few power metal touches here and there but they have two major drawbacks. The guitarist Thomas Wolf is a very good one. He plays smart and he is not fooling around throwing meaningless notes like other skillful guitar players. This are his strong points. The weak point of his playing is that he is REALLY obsessed with Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen. That's not bad when they are only your inspiration but sometimes Thomas sounds exactly like his guitar heroes and he forgets to put his own mark on his music. That's very bad for me. However this is not the problem of the album. I would have rate it with 8 if this was the only problem. What made me rate it with a 5 is the terrible vocals. They have female vocals. I won't judge if Angelica is a good or a bad singer. She doesn't fit with the music at all, that's what I have to say. She can't sing in a melodic band. In a more straight Heavy Metal band maybe she could do something really great. In fact the song 14 is a cover an a Yngwie Malmsteen track and they have someone else singing. His vocals fit WAY.. WAY BETTER than Angelica's. If this guy was their singer this album would be REALLY amazing! It's unfair!

What else can I say? Guys, change singer immediately.. Your music worth's something better than this....

PS Ian Haudlund ( Europe) plays the drums as a guest musician.
