Statues - Together We're Alone album cover

In the five years of producing music, STATUES have been on the consistency charts for quiet a while now with their new record lingering in the air, their clear influences of EVERY TIME I DIE THE and DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have never been more apparent.

The Perth Chaotic Hardcore's certainty go hard in yet another record which possibly could set a mark for upcoming bands to follow. Doing the job of producing a thrashing album without being generic or playing on the cues, STATUES have managed to compose such a masterpiece of twelve tracks that do just that. With everything being done and dusted, the five-piece have managed to pull back the dated sounds by adding psychosis rhythms that maintain an advanced level of melodic riffs.

Opener track, "All Fears Are Learned, All Victories Are Earned" eases their djenty beat what is quite frankly groovy, with funk influences present. The track does its job acceding as the constant breakdown between the riffs create a modern track that you just want to play again. Following up such a masterpiece, "Always Building, Always Breaking" carries on the soft djent style they have incorporated but twist it slightly to mark a second track.

Playing on their ability to continuously surprise your ears, the quintet have created a full on manic album with each track pulling at your hair and getting you off your feet, there is no room for silent moshing in your bedroom here, but going head first into the pit.

If it's gnarly bass lines that you want then, "Affliction Prescription" is a track catered for you with rugged bass drops and bouncy vibrations, STATUES have managed to yet again create an immaculate song. Juxtaposing the atmospheric tension, "I Want Peace" follows right after, taking a whole new feeling that springs up again. Jayme Van Keulen's vocals are highlighted here with the only sound to be heard, he takes on a short solo piece compliment by a silent clap.<
