Blood Libel
Sleepless
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: SLEEPLESS; signed via Necromantic Press Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Technical Thrash Metal, on their new EP entitled: "Blood Libel" (released March 12th, 2020).
Since formation in 2020; original members from 80s Death Metal band DEAD CONSPIRACY rejoin their forces to embark on a new journey within this newly formed trio: SLEEPLESS. 4 tracks ranging at around 16:17... the trio in question arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Technical Thrash Metal developments.
Opening up with an atmospheric wave of mystifying static, "The Man Who Could Not Sleep" unravels this rampantly rompy foundnation in blistering but flamboyant firepower fretworks that unleash this rowdy laceration on killer chugs and galloping ferocity. Consisting of Kevin Hahn on guitars/vocals, the frontman excels at a chiselling attribute in rip roaring soars on shredding yet relentless substance. Organically riffing with weighty potency, punchy virtuosity quintessentially strikes with rapidly swift nimbleness and a trace of progressively technical rumbles thud with sturdy yet triggering calamities. His vocals showcase a high-pitched sensation, shouting with yelling screams & profusely robust pipes of uproarious singing stability. And a groovy, hardened bombast that merges versatile twists for good measure.
"Host Desecration" demonstrates these vicious vocal strengths with high-octane heat, utilising vehemently venomous bass audibility from Eric Dorsett, who pulsates speakers with thumpy resonance. Slaying with volatile precision, hybrid experimentation and dynamically dexterous executions belts a bruising momentum on primitively raw tightness with stompy manifestations on meticulous mayhem that will tempestuously rattle skulls with this bulldozing fever to make you want to break chairs over other chairs in no time. Channelling a fierce clobbering from hammering drummer Eric Detablan, who rambunctiously piledrives the set with monstrously meaty savagery. Sulfurously injecting an infectiously immense intensity, immersively drilling a concretely gritty fundamental in flexible craftsmanship crescendos that thunder with razor-sharp finesse and wildly rushing zest. While more raging bellows cry out with mellifluous might, while an arbitrary panache supplies outrè persistence on persevering maelstrom stability.
"Deluded Hordes'' exhilarates a catchy conundrum in crunchy harmonies, as unique melodies trample with riveting rhythms & rifting swirls that salubriously pounds with pummelling rebellion. Forging a dense rumble on reverberating distortion, as gnarly contortion implodes with synergetic snappiness. While the titular track "Blood Libel (A Vampire Tale)" overall concludes the record with vigorous yet impactful exuberance and heavy grandures, distilling a deadly boundary on rich pursuits that revolves around a hefty distinction in distinguished mobilities that surge with towering pursuits & solid significance.
Bottom line; I am compelled to say that SLEEPLESS most certainly delivered a healthy dose on some powerful, but berserking Thrash Metal tribulations which motivate me with relentless ramifications. "Blood Libel" skyrocketed with outbursting performances which portrayed a unique representation of some chaotic havoc and hell-raising tempos. A discovery that's worthy of replaying a few, handful of times before a Full-length release emerges from hell itself - an enjoyably headbanging experience for sure - check it out.
