Siamese - Home album cover

Considered to be the next big thing to come from Denmark we got SIAMESE with their new album "Home" which is a follow up to their 2019 release "Super Human". The album was released in December 2021 to some acclaim. The albums lyrics evolve around "ideas and real life situations happening within our own four walls". With big plans of live shows and tours there is no signs of this band slowing down. The album opens and fades in with the track "Heights Above" as we hear some piano keys and a faint beat. The drums then hit and are followed by the vocals then this monster of a guitar riff hits. The song has a nice groove to it and there is a lot of range on show with the vocals. A sing along chorus is present and the middle section sets up for something big. There is then an explosion of instrumentation and then into a breakdown. Nice way to open the album.

Next up we have the title track "Home" which just falls on you like a ton of bricks. With some aggressive sounding vocals and a decent heavy groove and a very melodic chorus this is a cool song. There is some guest vocals on the second verse from DREW YORK from hardcore punk band STRAY FROM THE PATH. The breakdown then hits that would totally get a pit going crazy. The track "Can't Force The Love" opens with a dance beat but the guitars and drums then come crashing over. There are some soft vocals for the verse which leads to a big sounding chorus. The song has a nice flow to it, some cool guitar work and drumming too. A very heavy breakdown hits for what is otherwise a very melodic song, could easily be a hit single for the band.

"Enough Ain't Enough" opens with some dance samples with the guitars and drums carrying the vibe. The song really gets you moving and there is a lot of fun too. Another sing along chorus here too and from listening I can picture a crowd jumping up and down to this one. It also features a guest spot from RORY RODRIGUEZ from the band DAYSEEKER. After that one we got "Numb" with some heavy grooves right from the start. A quiet verse with some soft vocals present here and switches to heavy to lead to a massive sounding chorus. There is a build to a breakdown that just thunders its way down. A very fun song and I did really like this one.

Then we have "Rather Be Lonely" with the vocals leading us in. There is a very emotional vocal delivery here as the band come crashing in along side. I found myself moving my head along to this one. A big chorus hits and a breakdown which is quite creative. Some nice musicianship shown here. Final track on the album is "Sloboda" and the vocals lead us in on this one along side some synth heavy sounds. Some crushing guitars and drums then take over with some nice grooves present. The vocals here show their full range through-out. You can hear that the band are really giving it their all on this one and the track has an epic feel to it too. Plenty of cool riffs and cool sections in the middle section. The song then comes right down to a soft and gentle piano and strings section. Some really nice melodies to be found here as it all comes to an end.

"Home" by SIAMESE is a fun album. The vocals here show a lot of range and there are plenty of nice guitar riffs with heavy grooves to accompany all of that. This is a very tight band with lots of sing along chorus to keep everyone having a good time. It is very much in that modern metalcore style and at times I found myself getting reminded by early ELECTRIC CALLBOY from listening to this but it is still very much enjoyable and worth checking out.
