We are going to beautiful Costa Rica today, kids. How about some Latin Metal? The name of the band is SHADOWS DECAY and they are releasing a 6 track EP called Agent Of Chaos independently. The band started in 2008 as PREOPTIC DISTORTION and I am glad they changed the name.This short release starts with a punch in the face with the track “Dry You Out”. Pure Thrash Metal madness with some touches of Grindcore and a killer energy. The singer Nacho Escobar reminds me of Tom Araya with some extra gutturals added.

The next one is "Falling Of Mind” that starts with the good drumming of Jayson Hogson leading the way, and is another track that reminds you of the greats of the genre. The band used to have an extra 3rd guitar player but I am not missing his presence as Nestor Morales and Nacho Escobar take care of the job as you can see in the good “Agent Of Chaos” that names this release. Solid guitar riffs that in some parts reminds me of punk bands plus a killer guitar solo just to tell me that is not. We pass the halfway point with “Bringer Of Death” that shows that this release has also different approaches to the genre providing a different experience in every song. This one is slower, more rhythmic but equally heavy. The band also flirts with death metal mixing gritty and guttural vocal tones that amplify the album’s audience reach. Just listen to “Only Lies” and you will see what I mean.

We go back to Thrash territory with the final track “Pseudo Suicidal” that is a mix fast chugging followed by the smooth bass of Daniel Solano that is well mixed in the entire album and this is a bless in a Trash Metal album.Overall, nice release from SHADOWS DECAY with good Thrash and some touches of Death/Black for the enjoyment of the heavy music listener.
