SAVAGE MACHINE - Danish Heavy Metal band with the classical approach to the same, energetic guitars, a galloping bass, thundering drums and roaring vocals are their battle banners.
Firstly named MOMENTUM, back in 2010, they were spreading the gigging NWOBHM sound until the 2013, along those years they released a demo, "Seize The Night"
An energetic and an emotional journey within "Through The Iron Forest" will knock you out of your seat. These Danish lads are a right example of a band trying to make a spot in one of genres where the pioneers have put the highest standards. My first site of this band was they are not trying to copy some other bands, and they're not being about the forms and shapes already been set.
Skipping the introduction, this EP starts passionately, it the true spirit of Heavy Metal, the galloping guitars and the fantastic vocals will leave you amazed and speechless, a perfect Heavy Metal semi-ballad.
Heading forward to the "Iron Forest", a true example of a moshing unit, a speedy and a vocally high almost pitched interpreting, makes you head bang along the whole five minutes of it, awesome job guys.
Noticing that the album is made under colliding of tempos? Indeed I did too; I love the version of slow ballads and aggressive metalling stuff. The song that left the deepest mark on myself is fourth one, "The Easy Way Out". As some of you maybe have noticed I'm the kind of person who is into all the messages and all the feelings inside the manifests. Again I must honor Troels Rasmussen, his vocals are out of this world, a complete and pure artist, bravo, his ability and skill to control his voice, whether singing inside a ballad or clean-screaming high scales, this man owns it. Bravo. His work on the "The Easy Way Out" is damn epic, I love the feeling he's bringing to us, this guy has a future, a bright one, I tell you.
About the instruments part, I must say I noticed few things I found repulsive, and I don't actually know why; e.g. the guitar sounds in ''The Final March'', maybe saying that made me think it's composed via software will explain what I sensed, then also the drumming in "Prisoners of War" - pretty much the simplest way that could be made, a monotonic one. I am not suggesting these lads cannot play nor I'm judging their skillswork, but over all they have made a great job.
Fans of old IRON MAIDEN and classical Heavy Metal sound, without additives, will find this a decent and a great read. Try them out, if you're one of them.
