Morbid Odyssey
Sadistic Force

According to The Metal Archives the band SADISTIC FORCE from Austin, Texas plays Black/Thrash Metal. That, my friends is quite accurate if you ask me. In the five years of their existence these Texans have given us tow EP's (that were combined on a compilation album in the same year) and a full length album in 2021, a split in 2022 and their sophomore album in 2023, before having us wait for another piece of their brand of Metal. "Morbid Odyssey" is simply put just over 23 minutes of what SADISTIC FORCE has to offer at this moment in time. Beware, this is my first encounter with this and, so I can't comment on what they have done in the past.
If one thing is sure it is the fact that SADISTIC FORCE has a way of making you want to listen to more of their material. They don't knock on the door; they just blow it to pieces when they are trying to enter your domain. They are attempting to blast their way through your eardrums into your brain, and they are doing it by means of brute force, as the name SADISTIC FORCE does suggest, doesn't it? More impartantly I feel that the way they have mixed the Black Metal sounds and influences on "Morbid Odyssey" sounds rather good in my ears. The Black Metal parts are filled to the brim, in such a way that it feels almost claustrophobic, as if they band is trying to suffocate you. The guitar solos as well as the breaks and intermezzos are a little more subtle, give you the chance to catch your breath.
After all, five songs I really need a rest, just to make sure that I haven't lost any sensitive or essential parts in the 23 minutes of mayhem that is just have endured. Like I mentioned before, the name of the band, SADISTIC FORCE, has been chosen wisely, as this is one of the finest forms of torture that you will ever come across within the Metal genres. "Morbid Odyssey" is an amalgamation of five forms of torment that will have you trying to find a way to escape, only to experience the feeling of emptiness when it all ends. With a band like SADISTIC FORCE, I have the urge to become a masochist or at least a submissive, just for the time that "Morbid Odyssey" is playing. And that says a lot.
