Another Pride & Joy Music reissue in the Pride And Joy Classix Series.”No Man's Land” is the second reissue from Sacred Season. Sacred Season are a Melodic Rock band from Raisdorf near Kiel in Northern Germany. They were formed by Marco Shultz and Oliver Kukla in 1986 playing in a garage, realising that bass and keyboards were crucial to their sound Bjorn Gust and Thomas Rohwedder both joined the ranks before Rohwedder left the band soon after with Wulf Rathke joining the band a little later. The band recorded two demos “Sacred Season” in 1988 followed by “Taste Of Paradise” in 1990. A major German record label offered the band a record deal but they had to sing in German and replace all band members except Schultz, but friends don't do that. They appeared at the first Wacken Festival in 1990,and also at the 25th anniversary Wacken in 2014.

Having reviewed the reissue for the debut album earlier this month which was I thought was overall a good album but a bit too mellow in parts for me the opener on “No Man's Land” “So Far” gave me that edgier sound with the heavier guitar riff the backbone of the track, but still keeping that melodic feel with the keys, rhythm and an edgier vocal, with a great guitar solo thrown into the mix. There are some great AOR tracks on this album with the big choruses, harmonies & melodies “Voices”,”Water For Your Flames,”So Much” ,”Love is” and the feel good vibes of “Kiss Goodnight” are fall into that category great AOR tracks with a mid tempo pace.”I Will Stay Forever” is a more upbeat, with a rockier edge,a sweet guitar solo to bring the track down the final straight.”Save Her” is a mellow ballad style track with bass groove providing the depth, chorus lacking the conviction & delivery for me. However “I Believe” which is more stripped back piano lead, with vocals which have more sincerity & emotion leading to a powerful guitar lead break to bring the song home,a much better ballad,a cool track.”Help Me Through Your Life” is another ballad style track as “Pictures In My Head” with some nice acoustic touches and solo, again a well controlled vocal”Nothing Will Ever Divide Us” has some nice key chord changes, again mellow AOR,Another power power ballad “My Reality” finishes the album.

No Man's Land” is another solid reissue which I think is just a little bit stronger song wise than the debut album. The only negative thing about “No Man's Land” is that there are too many ballads on the album for my liking .Overall another great reissue release in the Pride & Joy Classix range. Definitely worth grabbing a copy if you are an avid AOR CD collector who collects these welcomed reissues.
