Rust N' Rage come from a small Finnish town called Pori.Vince,Johnny,Eddy & Jezzie share a passion for rock n' roll at first played individually around the town but it didn't take long for the four to unite to form Rust N' Rage! Through lots of hard work and gigging the guys started to make a name for themselves in their native country of Finland. They gained a reputation for their energetic live shows and anthemic songs. They drew their inspiration and influences from 80's legends such as Judas Priest,Motley Crue,Dokken & Guns N' Roses. They released their debut album which was produced by Jimmy Westerlund (One Desire).Things started to accelerate for the band as they found a a new manager and teamed up with a new producer to bring their vision to life. For the "Songs Of Yesterday"  album they have called on the production skills of Olli Antilla to make a defining statement.

Kicking off the album is the pacey "One For All (All For One)" which has that European rock flavour, big chorus and anthemic which I found to be an impressive start, which was followed by the melodic title track "Songs Of Yesterday" which is a huge stadium style rock track. The track next up "Just Like Brothers" has a more heavier feel and flows along full throttle, pedal to the metal with Johnny letting rip with some fret board trickery with Vince flexing those vocal chords."Hey Jane" returns to that melodic sound,a radio friendly number with catchy rhythm & melody. The part acoustic ballad "Gone But Never Forgotten" shows the softer side sound wise to Rust N' Rage, a track which will have the mobile phone torches lighting up the venue,a very heartfelt number with some great lyrics which everyone can relate to,again with some great vocals. The midway point of the album and it's time is to ramp it up again with the infectious, feel good rocker "Rolling Till The Morning" which is a no nonsense unapologetic rock track with some infectious hooks, groove and swagger, which is followed by "Open Fire" which will have you singing along by the end of the first chorus.so simple but so effective, with some great gang backing vocals and another smouldering guitar solo.Another superb slice of AOR comes next in the shape of the short but sweet "I Am The One" which has another huge chorus, huge melody and rhythm. The penultimate track is another melodically anthemic  charged "Gave It All I Got" which is another killer track with excellent vocals and more blistering guitar work. The last track on the album "Fire It Up" sees the band go full pedal to the metal with a rousing, high octane and full of energy rocking finale. "Songs Of Yesterday" delivers a finally crafted and put together record of timeless AOR and Rock for 2025 by a hugely talented European band whose hard work and determination has paid off. They have the knack of writing great tracks.Rust N' Rage have delivered a very solid offering which will appeal to old and new fans of this genre. This album comes highly recommended, absolutely first class stuff!
