ROAD TO JERUSALEM is an international hard rock band out of Copenhagen, Denmark, which includes members from THE HAUNTED, HYPOCRISY and KONKHRA. This 2018 album is their debut, due out March 2^nd 2018, and was recorded at Ark Studio, engineered by Søren Henner and mixed by Tue Madsen. The album clocks in at 34 minutes over nine songs. The opening track "Andromeda's Suffering" has a very dark and sinister feel to it, with slow rock picking, and prophetic-like rock vocals from Josh Tyree, reminiscent of CANDLEBOX and even LED ZEPPELIN/WHITESNAKE and a tinge of Janis Joplin. The overall feeling is very bluesy, 70s style, akin to bands like GRAVEYARD or KADAVAR. There is some heaviness to the song, think BLACK CROWS with lower tones. A very nice start to the album.

The track "Under Your Skin" brings me back to PORCUPINE TREE days of ABSTENTIA, with its keyboard effects and ambiance, but with an added grungy vocal approach. It even has some subtle progressive overtones. The 2 min mark has a very enticing heavy riff too to head bang to. "Village" has a much doomier/stoner approach, with banging drums and a dark Jim Morrison-like approach, and much more harshness in the vocals and some nice high pitch notes. It also has a very cool bridge, a heavy riff that reminds me of HIGH ON FIRE. Very nice soloing integrated in the song as well.

*Widowmaker" sounds right out of OPETH's "Damnation" backyard. A very haunting, slow-tempo, "snake-charming", hypnotizing track. A quite mesmerizing track, and even though the tempo is slower, the vocals show more emotion here than any previous track. The rock side of this song would make LED ZELLEPLIN jealous. "Poison Ivy" is very jazzy/bluesy with Josh Tyree is channeling Jim Morrison to perfection. The reverb effects really add a nice touch to the vocals as well.  Definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album, a great solo, and an ominous atmosphere. "Ragtime Woman", has some cool distortion in the guitars and is definitely much heavier, with aggressive solos. I can see this track as a set-opener. It packs a very heavy punch and ends with an energetic outro.

Keyboard effects take center stage with beautiful solos in "Behold In Now", another one of my favorites, the sound is pristine, and vocals at times are RUSH-like with awesome picking. "Them" has some nice percussions, and a very TOOL-like atmosphere, vocally and musically.  The final track "Jack O' Diamonds" has some nice sliding guitar and heavy effects in the guitars, a great closer to a very solid debut.
