What a pleasant surprise! One of the most afflicted bands in the history of heavy metal, returns with a brand new album. We all hope that they will find the stability which so many years were searching for and they will keep our ears busy for a long long time from now on...
For those ignoring Rival's existence so far (I don't blame you guys), lets make clear that we have to do with a 100% HEAVY metal band with interesting speed/power features and one of the most talented vocalists in the scene.
The State of Mind CD exhales a sense grandiosity, constitutes a fountain of great power which can be compared only to a hot lava ready to debauch and burn everything in its way. It's been a very long time since I've heard something so sweep that made at once its presence noticeable. (With a quick glance to the past I descry Cage's Darker Than Black).
Don't be captious, this is NOT part of the pile!!! Emotional songs, heavy riffing, tight rhythm section and there you are...a release-rebirth of genre, an album that with the right promotion will be a discussion point for anyone who claims to be a true metalhead. They deserve our support, State of Mind is only a part of a triumphant return, the return of a band that should had its lion share many years ago. Please, let's make it last...
