REASON is a Melodic Metal/Rock with echoes of Progressive Metal from Cheltenham in the United Kingdom, formed in 2009 by Chris Gyngell (ex-Vandamne/Fyrebyrds/Empire/Crywolf) guitarist & songwriter and vocalist Paul Mace. Band signed to Sweden`s Alienation Records, and their debut album "The Darkest Star" was released in December 2011. The new EP "Beyond The Dark Horizon" will be released on the 1st of June and it consists of three brand new tracks and the added bonus track "Rise" produced by industry legend Beau Hill.

My favourite track is the powerful "Fire Eternal", where pulsating drums open it together with gentle vocals. Then the full strength of melodic guitars attacks listener's ears & these catchy sounds in wonderful chorus reminds me of echoes of Hard Rock of the 80's.Worth a mention, is the fabulous guitar solo which really makes goose-flesh and strong connection's to progression which is listenable in the rhythmical section. This song could be a potential hit! I like the track "Sacrifice" with perfect sounds of bass, drums & mysterious keys. Amazing refrain with choir of band on the background, heavier guitars, and progressive lines. Believe me that the guys of band fantastically connect progressive keys & drums, massive riffs with Melodic of Hard Rock.

"Synchronized" has brilliant melodic riffs, progressive rhythm, and beautiful singing where strong a mix is clear, AERYON's keys & wonderful band's choir in refrain.  "Rise" which was remixed by rock production legend Beau Hill is a catchy & dynamic track with has great working bass in AOR style, melodic rockin riffs, and a fine vocal line.

The English Rock men from REASON prove that they can mix Melodic Hard Rock with echoes of Progressive Metal & melodic vocals in a perfect way. Their debut album was interesting, this fresh EP is also fantastic position and as proverb tells: "appetite comes with eating", I am sure that the musicians of REASON in future albums will not disappoint their fans. Their fresh ideas and performance are killer! Balsamic sounds makes me want to listen this EP again & again.
