Powerhouse's  highly anticipated sophomore album "American Rebel", is an explosive 6 track ride of pure adrenaline fueled, no holds barred and controversial take of The American Dream. American Rebel showcases the growth of the band both in musicianship and personality. Inspired by modern societal issues and personal events in the band's lives, this album is nothing short of intriguing, unique and stands on its own. You will find the material is heavily influenced by the styles of the greats from the 1970's and 1980's era, with a modern cultural spin. Don't let the length of the album fool you.. Once you start, you will find yourself on repeat and wanting more. Every single time.

"Heartbeat" has a cascade of pounding drums, the guitar riffs are primed then  we are off! Old school Thrash Metal with fast double pedal drum work the back bone of this opening headbanger, fast riffing & a shredding solo which is a modest opening track."Bring The Reign" keeps up that energy with some heavy chugging riffs, the vocals have grit & intensity, which is another nostalgic old school barrage of thrash."American Rebel" has groove, with the melodies it gives me early Metallica and Megadeth vibes,it's heavy, full of attitude & intense energy."Fight,Fight,Fight" starts with some gang chanting vocals that in a live setting the crowd will be pumping the air chanting back at them! Another headbanging fast paced full on assault."Redemption" is a less intense track a more Metal track than Thrash,a more mid paced track, great riffing and tight a tight rhythm section, lighter passages in places, with darker moments too."Rock Bottom" a classic UFO track ends this E.P.,a great version with a heavier spin on it.

"American Rebel" was a great trip down memory lane, six great tracks of old school Thrash Metal style. The obvious influences are apparent, Powerhouse do a decent job paying homage to the Thrash Metal greats,it maintained my attention, the head was going,is it a classic? no it's not ,but a worthy tribute to nostalgic Thrash Metal which is an enjoyable listen.
