Abominations

Chilean Death Metal band PHANTASMAGORE brings the sick and diseased atonal madness in their demo "Abominations". They have also released an album of March 2021 titled "Insurrection or Submission" that you should also check out. The first track "Master Crusher" has an intro of some poor woman being mercilessly slaughtered. After which some ominous and foreboding distorted guitars and surprisingly melodic bass lines seem to bind you into submission for the brutality that is to ensue. Classic death metal vocals horrifically describe hellish torments of domination and decimation. This song has all the ghastly and demented aspects you would expect from any of the Death Metal Legends but does so in a fresh and raw fashion. I love everything about this song and I know it would be an absolute banger live with it's pit inducing sonic destruction.
The second track of the demo "Assimilation of the Intruder Cell" begins with a sample from the cult classic horror film "The Thing". This song is like a shot of adrenaline straight into the brain. It is full of the high energy and murderous intent of the creature which plagued that scientific outpost in the arctic. One thing that surprised me was this beeping noise that's in the song. I had thought my oven alarm had gone off or something. I had to rewind it to be sure I wasn't going crazy but maybe that was the intent of the noise. This is a very impressive demo seething utter gore and abominations from every orifice. I never knew Chile had such awesome and impressive musicians but I will keep my eyes and ears out for any new releases and upcoming bands from my South American metal brethren. Bien!
