Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: OXALATE; independently unsigned, hailing from the United States of America - performing Death Metal, on their debut EP entitled: "Infatuating Sickness" (released October 31st, 2019).

Since formation in 2017; the quartet in question have a Single entitled: "Dark Sepulchrum" (released November 9th, 2018), a Split entitled: "Perpetuated/Blood Spore/Oxlate/Vivisect" (released September 4th, 2020) & this here debut EP that I am introduced to entitled: "Infatuating Sickness''. 4 tracks ranging at around 11:29, OXALATE arrange an intricately designed formula of some heavy-hitting Death Metal developments.

Opening up with the blistering barrage frenzy entitled: "Unwholesome Revelation"; OXALATE deliver a boisterously bouncy slab of some solid vehemence, utilizing this savagely sinister manifestation of monstrously meaty mayhem. Chiselling a bulldozing fabrication in amplified adrenaline, chunky fretwork hooks & a berserking profanity of some gnarly grinds, fuelling a hybrid dimension in fluidly polished persistence while persevering with tempestuously thunderous heat. Implementing groovy executions in extreme hostility; banging heads with rampant rompiness, with sulphurous yet sturdy distortion. Consisting of Devon Ray on the audible bass/vocals; the frontman excels at an infectious attribute in fiery injections of some venomously triggering thumpiness, reverberating speakers with rumbling trembles that rattle heads into a chaotic maelstrom of primitively raw roughness.

Devon's vocals surge with raspy throatiness; snarling with brutal growls, and deep gutturals that shout with tight malevolence. "Dark Ritual" showcases this skyrocketing premise on sonically seamless retribution; rapidly nimble swiftness, and a healthy dose of some dexterously dynamic firepower substance which organically strikes with progressively technical pursuits while supplying this quintessential virtuosity on monolithic tempos from duo guitar shredders Zakk Mild & Chris Albertsan. Both rip with these twinning attacks in bludgeoning consistency; chugging, galloping & frolicking with wildly rushing yet razor-sharp panache. The penultimate, titular bruiser belts eardrums in a frantic pile drive that rambunctiously stomps with volatile & steely precision from hammering drummer Jackeline Betancourt; who throttles that set with pummelling pounds, smacking weightiness & punchy grit. Concretely driving into a fierce embodiment of vibrantly potent distortion, and a menacing versatility on quirky snappiness - performed with deadly distinction that will make you want to break chairs over other chairs in no time.

Overall concluding "Infatuating Sicking" with the finale epic: "Blood And Sulphur," which lacerates & bombards speakers with bombastic calamities in killer rebellion while stampeding with this salubrious swamp in immersively intense havoc... OXALATE offers this slaying slice of evil empowering embodiments in maddening yet pathological insanity; in which will most surely satisfy your brutal, Death Metal needs. The band certainly outdone themselves here, and while very short...it's a small taste of things to come. Lots of replay value here, as it is definitely a discovery that's worth the listen for all fans of maniacal pandemonium, ruthless severity & gruesomely gory finesse. Check it out, you won't regret it.
