From Bandcamp, "Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, OMNIFARIAM has carved the reputation as one of the heaviest Death Metal acts on the island." The album has five songs, and "Deceivers of the Bleak" is the first. It's Death Metal, there are no two ways about it. There are some elements of Black Metal mixed in, mostly in the way the vocals are delivered and in some of the guitar work. "Leaders of the Dark" begins with a slower grind, and is a bit shorter. One thing that the band is solid with is filling the background with harrowing elements. It gives the songs some fright value to them.

"Enslaved" is another muscular offering, with a very heavy bottom end. The guttural vocals are devastating. As if often the case in the genre, the drummer is one of the better musicians in the band. Even though drums are not a tonal instrument, it still takes a lot of stamina and rhythm to pull something like this off. "The Outsiders" begins with cold winds howling, and a solitary riff, slow and steady. It wallows in this sort of Doomy and depressing sound throughout, akin to the way locals might glare at outsiders visiting their town. In this case, they might even be plotting their murder. "Dehumanized" closes the album. It's a super-fast jaunt, sounding like the blood splatters that might come from a quickly dissected body while the victim was still alive.

Overall, this was a solid EP, and one from a band who deserves the accolades they get in Puerto Rico. Mostly because the band smartly doesn't rely on what has been done in the past. Their brand of Extreme Metal relies more on their own vision and how they want the songs to be perceived. With a little more variation between tracks, this album could have been great, but it is solid as is.
