Die Wampyiskra Symphonie
Old Castles
With no Facebook page, and no entry on Encyclopaedia Metallum, and no information on the band in their EPK, I have only the information from their record label to go on here. It states, "A strange and solemn piece of ancient art recreated in the Raw Black Metal & Old School Dungeon Synth. A demo, initially recorded in 2012 in a primitive analogue way, and an unreleased Dungeon Synth demo, recorded the same year, make a joint album dedicated to the dark tyrants, with a unique and intricate purpose towards this monolith Relive once again the glorious and majestic melancholy, loneliness and eternal darkness with a fierce spirit of the Dark Ages ... those hymns consecrated to the mist of old forgotten kingdoms and black sorcery. Reverberant cacophonies from the shattered tombs are emanated to morbid sound of the raw black metal side, rotten and orgiastic feast of the black noise...devotees of vampyrism art." The album contains eight tracks, four of which are untitled.
"Oubliette" leads off the album. It enters with minimal sound, barely making a whisper. "Orgiastic Feast in Excrement" features very muted production, and just a one-two guitar riff with screams over and over. That's about all she wrote here folks. "Scepter of Translucent Virulence" is more of the same. The production is awful here...it sounds like it was recorded in someone's basement. If they are going for the "Trvu Kvlt" sound here, they have succeeded. "Burial into the Mist" just sounds like bubbling minimalistic music without much going on. There is almost no sound to even comment on here.
"Untitled" registers more in the Dungeon Synth sound. Steady keys with high vibrato carry the track forward and to completion. The next "Untitled" track feature bass guitar notes with some more of the synth. The third "Untitled" song is more Dungeon Synth. The final "Untitled" track is more synth with some stringed notes towards the end. I am unsure of the purpose of any of these songs on the album. Overall, there is not much to say. The album has really only three tracks with any kind of music in them. If you are into the "Trvu Kvlt" style of Black Metal, you might enjoy this. But, it did absolutely nothing for me.
