OBEDIENCIA CERO were formed in 2021 and they are from Tenerife, Spain. The Thrash Metal outfit released their debut album so far. Their first EP release is called “Mundo Caos” and it has a length of about 16 minutes. The EP was released via Canarian Islands Thrash Metal specialists They Live We Sleep Recordings. The EP starts with the mid-tempo track “Clavos”. The guitar riffing is powerful and accompanied by crushing basslines as well as with some double-bass drumming. The melodies are dark but have a certain catchiness. The vocals are harsh and vary around the higher end of the vocal range. The highlight of the track is the extended break, which is played at a fast tempo and includes a contributing lead guitar solo. “Sangre” starts with thunderous guitar riffs at a measured tempo and a somewhat sluggish rhythm. The vocals are very aggressive and intense, and they are supported by backing vocals during the choruses. The lead guitar contributions are an important feature of the track as there is a lead guitar solo after each end of a verse/chorus cycle. At the beginning of the break, there is an abrupt tempo switch, with the rest of the track being played blisteringly fast.

Pensar Y Sentir” is a fast track and played at crazy pace. The guitar riffing is tight Thrash Metal riffing and accompanied once again by crunching basslines. There is backing vocal support once again and this introduces a few Hardcore vibes. At the heart of the track is the extended break and this is a Thrash Metal onslaught at its best in terms of guitar riffing and lead guitar solo. The track is the highlight of the release, and “Pensar Y Sentir” was released as video with the YouTube link provided below. The final track “El Arte Del Hombre” is another frantic delivery of Thrash Metal riffing, aggression, and intensity. The guitar riffing is tight and includes a few staccato-type of riffs. The melodies are grim but catchy and the vocals have once again backing vocal support. The lead guitar solo is short but very contributing. “El Arte Del Hombre” is a good way to finish the EP.

After releasing their debut album, OBEDIENCIA CERO follow up with their first EP and “Mundo Caos” is a good modern Thrash Metal delivery with traditional elements. Key features of the release are the guitar riffs, the solos, and the aggressive and intense vocals. OBEDIENCIA CERO do not re-invent the Thrash Metal wheel, they stick to traditional elements in the riffing and add their own sound on top of it. The EP is well produced. Thrash Metal fans will like the four songs on “Mundo Caos” and should watch out for new future releases of OBEDIENCIA CERO.
