JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon's new album So U being released through Frontier Records is about as 80s rock as you can get in the year 2014. The album itself does sound like JOURNEY... sort of.

So U is interesting. Although 80s Pop Rock doesn't normally keep my attention for the full span of the album this time it did. "Exotica" was the highlight of this album for me. The song has the Classic Rock feel like something you, or in my case my parents are use to. Schon's guitar work in this album is a Hard Rock style with very JOURNEY sounding riffs themselves.

So U is nothing special in the terms of bringing something new, on the other hand it's a nice 80s Classic Rock album being released in the year 2014. How strange. Check it out if you like JOURNEY or if you just want to hear some modern day Classic Rock.
