Nada
Entropia

Brazil is a hot spot for Thrash metal as well as sociopolitical upheaval—two things which kind of go hand-in-hand. It’s no surprise that in the year of our plague, 2020, Crossover Thrash trio NADA emerged from the chaos. In 2022 they released their debut EP, Nada 2022, and two years later their debut full-length Entropia. After signing with WormHoleDeath Productions in May 2025, they re-released Entropia for wider distribution.
Entropia comprises 13 tracks, five of which are re-recordings of their 2022 EP. So, seven new tracks and five kind-of-new tracks. All in all, 34 minutes of Brazilian Hardcore metal. Like most Hardcore and Thrash, this album hits you like a cement truck on a steep downhill run, only this is the sort of impact you want to hold on to.
NADA specializes in a sound that is one part Hardcore, one part Thrash mixed with Brazilian influences and a lot of visceral anger. Rodrigo Araújo riffs come at you with a primal intensity and are only matched in their rawness by his vocals. He is backed by Diogo Néchio on drums who pushes a tempo that’s both urgent and deliberate in its delivery. Danilo Souza provides backing vocals and completes the rhythm section with brutal compulsion.
The band notes that the cover art, designed by @kaparootz, “depicts the destruction of Indigenous values upon first contact with colonial forces—an allegory for the modern world’s descent into deception and manipulation.” That theme perfectly mirrors the spirit of the 13 tracks.
Several of the best tracks are re-imaginings from their EP including “Black Bodies Bleed” which is also features on live video (linked below); “Porcos da Mentira” (trans: lying pigs) which is the final and longest track of the album; and “Simpatia” (trans: sympathy) which nears Doom proportions only to launch into molten Thrash and then back again to swampy. Lots of diversity packed into this one.
Altogether, NADA stands up to represent São Paulo with fists in the air and a finger to the man. Or the state. Or the colonial invaders. But mostly the state. Either way, Entropia is a scathing critique wrapped up in scathing riffs.
