MYRONATH are a band from Sweden, that is a new discovery for me. They're a very good band, with a lot of occultism in their atmosphere, which I like.  So, already going in, I , thinking this is a good discovery for not only me,  but for Black Metal fans as well. As for the rest of you, you've been warned. This is probably just going to be another Black album.

MYRONATH's new, "Into the Qliphoth" album has a very dark 'feel' overall. It's mixed with melodic sounds and some very raw elements, that make this album heavier than you might expect (you probably already expected this to be heavy, right?).  I really like the grim metal voice put in here. I actually really like it a lot. I know there are many bands that do this as well, but this voice here specifically recalls memorable Black memories from the 90's. The songs center around a lot of fast beats and fast percussion with that old-school production, but current vintage of  2019, which results in a far better sound.

The instrumentation on "Into the Qliphoth" is really well executed, with a lot of power that fits perfectly with the grim vocals. Through the whole album you will find slow moments that are made to give you the dark atmosphere, mixed with mid-tempo parts and spoken lyrics, briefly used perhaps,  but pretty well done.

The melodic moments that are made here come Malphas and his guitars. Which are exceptionally well executed, and the production used here is something to single out as well. We all know that  in a Black Metal band, the guitars are usually fast, and significant, but also usually basically, plain. But here, MYRONATH proves that sometimes it's good to hear styled moments complemented with some keys, giving you a little sample of well, ritualistic moments. The lyrics cover Lucifer, Qliphoth and the Left-Hand Path.

If you're a Black metal fan, I would think you'd really dig this album. As I implied earlier, these kind of releases are more directed to a certain dynamic of the Black Metal public. So if you're one of us, get it now, and if not, this just might hurt your ears  (and your feelings too).
