, I can deal with the lack of structure, and the very loose nature of the music, but what struck me as most odd were the vocals. This music is just too eclectic for most music lovers.

MYAELIN's latest sonic journey, "Naesekhnaetri," invites listeners to delve into the enigmatic poetry of Aleister Crowley like never before. Through the improvised compositions, the band captures the raw and unfiltered essence of Crowley's words, breathing new life into his ghastly verses. Each track is an unscripted exploration, a spontaneous outpouring of emotions and musicianship. MYAELIN's approach to music creation defies convention, transcending boundaries to channel the very spirit of the poetry they embrace. In "Naesekhnaetri," they beckon you to traverse uncharted realms, forging a connection with the chaotic, mystical and the unknown, just as Crowley intended.

“Khaos Ex Logou” is the first song. Thick bass guitar notes lead the sound, with some psychedelic vocals. When you talk about improvisation, you need to get into that headspace. The musicians have some talent, and the song has a heavy edge to it. I picture the singer in a long robe stealing the spotlight with his antics. “Rise of the Sulphur Surfer” is a bit longer. Although it has a different pitch and key, the oddness of the sound is still there, led by both bass and keyboards this time. I sort of get an old school vibe of THE DOORS here, and the extended instrumental section gives time for the band to play without boundaries.

“Ego Ripper” has more structure, with an energetic riff flowing from the multi-colored palate. Again, the vocals are probably the strangest part of the album. Kristof shouts repeatedly, and does so freely, it almost sounds like he is in a dream state. The lengthy “Collectif Primitif” closes the album; a fifteen-minute opus. There is plenty of time for taking a circuitous route, and that is what the band does. It’s a strange, psychedelic trip through space and time that never seems to end. Overall, I can deal with the lack of structure, and the very loose nature of the music, but what struck me as most odd were the vocals.
