MUSTASCH have been around for a while - since 1998, to be exact, and this is their sixth and newest album, and it sounds pretty damn awesome, certainly not like Hell, anyway (ha, ha). It's very no-frills, genuine Rock, and was a pleasure to listen to.

I'll start off with the one negative thing that really stood out to me, and that was the last track "Northern Star". I was... well, weird to be honest. Some strange instrumental bit, unlike anything on the rest of the album, with a woman talking over it. Didn't fit in with any of the other songs, and the album would definitely not have suffered without it, in fact, it probably would have been better if it wasn't there. The band's described as Sludge Rock, but I wouldn't let that put any of you of. They're very clean sounding, and I think there's more of a Rock 'N' Roll vibe to it, so maybe that other label fit their other albums. It's extremely riff driven, and what riffs they are. Jumping from one to the next, nearly every song has a memorable rhythm to it, and you'll find that the 36 minutes that this album runs for feels like no time at all, I certainly thought it was a lot of fun to listen to. I really like the feel of this album - no nonsense, good old Rock.

Ralf Gyllenhammar is a heck of a singer, giving the album it's essence in my opinion, as well as playing fantastic rhythm guitar. David Johannesson steals the show when the vocals aren't present with guitar playing that has a lot of attitude, and a lot of bite. I mentioned genres earlier, but I think it would be difficult to give MUSTASCH a specific label in order to concisely describe their sound. It's a very tight album, one which a lot of time and thought has been put into and if you go by this quote from an interview with Gyllenhammar - "That's the way I work as a person [...] all or nothing. There are no in-betweens in my world" - it's clear as day that this album was definitely a labour of love.

If you appreciate real Rock 'N' Roll, if you want to have a good time, then "Sounds like Hell, Looks Like Heaven" is without a doubt the album for you. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.
