Vision was a great start to their Sonicbids EPK; a very diverse track with a clear amount of emotion behind it with guitar that I didn't think sounded Nu Metal or really any other part of the song other than maybe the vocals here and there. Although this reviewer would say they have a sound similar to that of the DEFTONES and some consider then Nu, but I consider Alternative/Metal. The second track is terribly Nu Metal sounding though it is redeemed slightly by the ending of the track, which is a very solid mix of guitars and pounding drums. Mariposa I could have sworn Serj (SYSTEM OF A DOWN) was singing on this song for sure, so yes I can't help except think Nu Metal as well as the growl on this track sounds similar to that of ILL NINO (who I actually happen to like), which isn't a bad thing. Choices has SYSTEM OF A DOWN flooding out its pores for sure.
MOSTLY HARMLESS took me a second to fully put together their sound, but once I figured it out it was very obvious. They are a mix of ILL NINO and SYSTEM OF A DOWN, but more on the end of the former. I would like to say though they are a poor man's ILL NINO and have the hooks or melodies that ILL NINO has.
