Morse, Portnoy, George

There is no special need to present the deeds of Mr. Morse , Mr. Portnoy, Mr. George since their previous work with mega bands of progressive rock in general has proven their musical strength, talent and time endurance. In this album you will have the chance to listen to Neil Morse (former vocalist for SPOCK'S BEARD) covering songs from bands like PAUL MC CARTNEY, CREAM, THE MONKEES, U2, THE MOODY BLUES and many more.
Many of the members of this band have participated in other monstrous groups as side projects such as OSI, LTE, YELLOWCUSTARD, and various tribute bands. By listening to this Cd you will find out that Neils voice is simply amazing and sounds pretty neat good too. He manages to cover many difficult voices and his style can handle many strange type of vocal lines such as DAVID BOWIE.
The question whether to buy a cover album or an original one, is your task to answer. On the other hand it is obvious that these guys had fan and passion while they were recording this project. On the whole I think that it's not a top 5 record but it sounds really cool and you can give yourself a chance for another cover take in some well known songs or just have fun listening to their experimentations. Of course no one could possibly argue about the technical skills of those three guys - moreover they manage to add a special touch iof their personal feel into this record.
Maybe a dedicated fan to these three virtuosos would want more than just a cover CD but this album could possibly serve as an appetizer for his or hers sonic meal. If you consider yourself as a fan of Neal, Mike, or Randy I think it's a nice choice to buy this album but otherwise you could check for something more original in the fields of composition.
Highlights of this album can be considered - amongst the other - the following ones: "Pleasant Valley Sunday , "Where Do the Children Play , "Feeling Stronger Everyday , "Where the Streets Have No Name and "Find My Way Back Home .
