Mammoth Grinder - Underworlds album cover

This MAMMOTH GRINDER band hails from Austin, Texas known for the Texas State Capitol, the oldest capitol in the USA. Wait my mistake, I am writing on things that I shouldn't, so let's get back to the review. MAMMOTH GRINDER released its third album, "Underworlds", after releasing albums in 2008 and 2009; however they did some style changes starting in Hardcore and ending with maybe to most elusive style in all Metal, meaning Crust Metal. I already wrote about bands that are playing Crust and it's not easy on defining the music, however in the case of MAMMOTH GRINDER, it seems that they also venture into the Death Metal. This is going to be interesting.

The album consist of 10 tracks, mostly sort of typical Crust material, all tracks are full blown assault of a fusion of extremity. For one thing, listening to this album in full volume can cause the icebergs to melt, this is not recommended. It's Crust Metal in its best of forms, with heavy riffing and hard ass bass alongside Death Metal growls. In addition, "Underworlds" have its share of Punk influences that are very noticeable and of course very important for sort of Crust release. True Crust oppressors are "Moral Crux", while attaining a Doom Metal stance into the mix, yet still nice track and shows that the band can be very versatile.

Oki Dokie, "Underworlds" is a good Crust Metal album for fans of this direction. If you aren't into extreme Metal or Crust, I beg you for the first listen. Please start in a lower volume tones if you don't wanna be overwhelmed.
