LUTHARÖ is a Canadian Heavy Metal band from Hamilton that mixes up guttural vocals with clean vocals and a lot of good melodies and riffs. They have recently released their newest album "Wings of Agony" and that's what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Barren" and it starts out with a cool orchestration sound that grows slowly and creates a great exciting ambiance. The guitars start with a Power Metal kind of melody and the vocals are as high as it could be! The riffs are fast and the drums and bass makes justice to it. The guttural vocals are pretty good and gave the song a nice atmosphere, especially because it's a mix with the clean vocals. I really liked how they manage to altern from the vocals and also the instrumental parts that goes from more melodic to really aggressive ones. The guitar solo is pretty cool and the part after it is heavy as fuck and has some great vocals.

"Diamond Back" starts out with what could easily be a Thrash Metal song and its full of great guitar riffs and I believe that the people at their gig will mosh a lot to it. The vocals here reminded me ANGELA GOSSOW and that's just great. The chorus is pretty good and mixes the guttural and clean vocals again. The guitar solo is pretty good and the drums wow... blast-beats! The bass sound is great as well.

"Blood Lightning" starts out with a very epic guitar melody that will probably makes you feel powerful and creates the perfect ambiance for the song. There's a pretty cool guitar solo and the vocals here starts out clean and we can listen to a little bit more of her technique. That's for sure a masterpiece of a song and I loved it. I have nothing left to say, just listen to it.

"Will to Survive" starts out with a very fast guitar riff full of heaviness and modern stuff. This song is by far the heaviest on the whole album and I believe that its gonna sound awesome when playing live. That's the stuff.

"Wings of Agony" starts out with a clean guitar sound and a deep clean vocal. I liked the guitar arrangements as well. Here you will find the best vocal work on the whole album and I believe that Krista is probably one of the best singers I ever heard coming from Canada. She has so much power in her voice and the instruments here are SICK. Man.... WHAT A FUCKIN' GREAT SONG!!!

LUTHARÖ is a band that was unknown to me until I received this package with their album to make a review of. I must say that I am impressed and it's probably one of the best things I heard in Metal lately... They have so much power, energy and the musicians are incredible. Each song here impressed me in a good way. One of the best releases coming from Canada this year.
