Luna Field

August 1, 2005
After releasing their debut album, Close to Prime (2003), Luna Field now present their new multi-dimensional work, with a massive production by Alex Krull (Atrocity, Belphegor) and with melodies that will stick inside your mind from the very first listening.
Luna Field was created in 1998. During the two following years the band was occupied with live performances and the creation of their personal style by singer B. Rakidzija. So, in 2001, after many shows they managed to develop an extreme live style (using pyrotechnics etc). In 2003, after a lineup change (the drummer was replaced by Tomasz Jamisrewski - also in Belphegor) and after gaining a lot of experience from playing support shows for bands like Belphegor, Die Apokalyptichen Reiter, Mucupurulent, Soul Demise and Mystic Circle, Luna Field released their first album entitled Close To Prime which received very good reviews. In 2004 they entered Alex Krull's Mastersound Studio for the recording of Diva.
Luna Field is basically a Death Metal band. However they lead their style much further without creating a classical technical-progressive Death Metal vibe, but a rather interesting, easy listening and very inspired piece of work. B. Rakidzija's growls are combined in the best way with the musical arrangements, which are quite unusual in some parts. Astonoshing, raging riffs and merciless drumming create a death-like Metal with some atmospheric parts here and there like in the song Diva Messiah and a Black Metal atmosphere that simply make it hard to categorize Luna Field.
I didn't have the chance to listen to Close To Prime but if it sounds like Diva then I'm sure that it's an interesting record. Luna Field managed to create their own musical style; they can easily dynamite the listeners' ears and gain their attention at once. I think this might be one of the most interesting releases of the year.
