Lord Of Giant - Dust Demon / Woman album cover

Truth be told, I wasn't aware of those guys, and shame on me, shame on me. Based at Mönchengladbach and hailed as Germany's new hope of Stoner Rock scene, LORD OF GIANT present to us a great 7" (yeah, its vinyl) with two fantastic songs.

Both tracks of the single are pure Stoner Rock at its best. First we've got "Dust Demon". A fuzzy heavy rock tune with lots of stoner doses making me think of KYUSS. Setting the tone with the opening riff, LORD OF GIANT show that they mean business. Plodding at a heavy mid tempo they showcase what Heavy Rock is. Great vocals, fuzzy and heavy guitars and bass, nice well placed leads, and drums to match everything else perfectly. Only to reach at a fantastic climax with a massive riff, kind of reminding me CATHEDRAL's psychedelic heaviness. Hell yeah! Side two's "Woman" is another story. The song starts off with a murkier, more bluesy feel. Gritty soulful vocals with the required heavy riffing as it is. A job well done! The only flaw? It's only two songs!

LORD OF GIANT surely got my attention with this release, making me want to explore their previous release and wait in anticipation their next move.
