Dallas, Texas are about to get more than a wake-up call as new Post-Hardcore/Techno Metal outfit LIGHT THE FIRE are on the scene and they are about to show us what they are made of. They have released their debut album "Lost At Sea" and it is a definite treat for Hardcore fans.
This deafening group formed in 2011 and ever since releasing debut EP "Note To Self" they have been establishing themselves as a force in the South Central U.S. metal scene. Teaming up with a top producer who has worked with BLACK VEIL BRIDES and MODERN DAY ESCAPE seemed to be a smart move for "Lost At Sea".
Once you get over the initial disappointment of realising they aren't a Pirate Metal band from the album title it is actually an amazing feat. The album contains a very strong sound that reminds one of their alternative student days; the aggressive vocals being a strong reminder of their first local Hardcore shows where you are inclined to act completely bonkers providing a brilliant stress relief or the industrial techno can bring back of your few first nights at an alternative night club.
The tracks that demonstrate this vibe strongly "Snitches Get Stitches", "Lost At Sea" and "S.O.S", it's that sort of music you can close your eyes and just immerse yourself to getting away from the stresses of reality. The dominant, aggressive vocals and bold techno melodies work incredibly well together to create a mesmerising sound.
This album is a great introduction to great Hardcore, even for those who aren't the greatest fans of the genre. In every gold mine there are riches that are more valuable than others and this is a solid example of this. Overall an unyielding example of a flawless debut album that is a remarkable showcase of their work.
