It's obvious that Grindcore is one among the Most Extreme Genres of Metal. But at the same time this particular genre is the most overlooked one as well. However the genre itself has evolved a lot ever since Siege started this particular approach. Now Grindcore is not a single genre, having a considerable amount of sub-genres ranging from Pornogrind to Noisegrind-people could now choose a preferable style. Prior to the aforementioned sub genres, it was always the Death/Grind or Deathgrind which was preferred by most of the people as it's usually the easiest one to digest for newbies. Started by Assück, Deathgrind is an ideal blend of Brutal Death and Grindcore. Let's cut to the chase without analyzing the genre deeply, LENG TCH'E has been a popular band on the Deathgrind scene. It was unfortunate that the band was no longer active 5 to 7 years back. However after taking a long hiatus these Belgium based Deathgrind virtuosos released their much anticipated full length this year. Known for their originality and versatility, "Razorgrind" features 14 tracks with the majority of them being under three minutes.

Starting the album with a chaotic intro track, "Gundog Allegiance," LENG TCH'E shows their extreme side with an eerie and brutal vocals supported by aggressive and groovy Instrumentation which transits with the subsidence of every brutal breakdowns. What makes LENG TCH'E unique and unrelentingly brutal is undoubtedly their vocals. The vocal work is very disturbing and adds the majority of aggression. The versatility kicks in when the band takes some precious time off to integrate some sludgy characteristics on "Cibus" supported by the well driven cleans. Set list falls back onto the aggressive character as the track that follows "Spore" and "AnarChristic" are heavy and at some point noisy.

After circling around the typical Grind sound LENG TCH'E surprises us with a melodic and groovy track "The Red Pill," Starting the song with a Proggy and dissonant instrumentation the track quickly adapts aggression with a series of breakdowns followed by syncopated and light-speed drumming. One among the brighter aspects of this album lies within the well-crafted drumming. This is reflected on the track that follows, "Species Path Extinction." Perfectly executed blast beats which delivers a smooth and tight sections. The euphony prevails as the band quickly integrates the harmonic sound of organ outta nowhere on "Guinea Swine." Listen to this track if you want to know how to blend melodic characters on an extreme genre such as Grindcore. If you are a sucker for breakdowns, you might as well give "I am the Vulture" a quick spin. With more than two quick breakdowns the track ceases with one of the brutal breakdowns of this year.

Overall, "Razorgrind" is one among the best releases of 2017. The reason being the wisely delivered layered vocals, light-speed drumming and thick guitar sections. This record is worth the 7 year long wait as I don't see any major flaws. Perfect album for anyone who is trying to get into Deathgrind or Grindcore in general. That being said "Razorgrind" is pulverizing yet mesmerizing and shows that Grind is not all about gore.
