Lazer Beam
Lazer Beam
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: LAZER BEAM; signed via Golden Robot Records, hailing from Arizona grounds - performing Stoner Rock/Punk/Grunge, on the self-titled debut album: "Lazer Beam" (released April 9th, 2021).
The duo in question has only this here self-titled debut album in their discography so far, 10 tracks ranging at around 37 minutes... LAZER BEAM arranges an intricately designed formula in some heavy-hitting Stoner Rock/Punk/Grunge amalgamations.
Opening up with this synthesized soundwave of majestic static, "Sink Or Swim" exceeds all expectations with this rompy groove and boisterously blistering adrenaline in amplified frenzies that thunder with rampant stability. Locust French performs on all consisting instrumentation, elementing a fluidly polished persistence on riveting hooks as guitars fret with wildly rushing melody. Harmonies inject an infectiously venomous strike that pursuits with thumpy stompiness, rambunctious pile driving and sulfurous rhythms that mesmerises me with profusely robust jumpiness. While this punchline execution excels a chiselling bombardment in flamboyantly gripping vibrancy, where this unique vehemence on organic panache & psychedelic substance revels with this thrilling attribute in dexterously dynamic potency.
"In The Moonlight'' distils a crunchy aesthetic, gravitating a hybrid calamity in immersively chunky experimentation in which trailblazes with skyrocketing laceration on killer rips that shred with sonically seamless zeal. Showcasing this incredibly catchy complexity in creatively distinguished tightness on weighty significance that will momentously slay your skull with primitively raw maelstrom manifestations that come across as refreshingly meticulous, especially in the majestic "Don't Tell" & the frantic chunkiness of "Sno Burn'' as both surge with this old school tonality while merging it with the modernised formulaic. Everything sounds monolithic, while versatile and impeccably gnarly. Giving off that snare of rumbling reverberation that trembles with sturdy thuds, trippy fuzziness and a borderline foundation in funky finesse that exhilarates you with an exciting diligence in detailed but intriguing fibre...ending with this acoustic exuberance and a spoken word closure for good measure.
"You Drive Me Crazy" contorts a distorted combustion in beefy bruisers, belting eardrums with this punchy yet mellifluous overarch on where the Stoner Rock blazes with fuelling blitzkrieg along with the transfusion of Punk and Grunge while evolving a concretely gritty fabrication in dense firepower expertise. Where the snappy conundrum in smoky sound production revolves through your soul with spellbinding crescendos, and persevering virtuosity that shows off Chris Hudges percussion patterns with full force. "Take Me Home" magically unearths these shrieking but electrifying solos that really capture BLACK SABBATHy enticements, efficaciously steamrolling with rollicking frolics and galloping pummels that stomps with steely precision & sometimes kaleidoscopic heaviness, culminated with the crazy but empowering flows LAZER BEAM shines you with.
"Damn The Reptiles" resonates with more bleeding but chugging euphony, crafting an intense transformation on salubriously triggering symbiosis where the songwriting musicianship stems from a deathly but eerie distribution that makes for an enriching experience especially when the penultimate track "Silver" comes in. An otherworldly yet spacious introduction comes in, until this kind of operatic hum intrudes...and then more monstrously meaty rifts flickers eardrums until this raspy yet high-pitched yell marvels with strong singing abilities in which roars with screaming technicalities which strive with true talent & potential. Until the overall concluding epic "Adam & Eve" articulates in a brilliantly archaic finale of mystifying yet foggy belters in which portray this progressively technical boundary in elegantly exquisite desolation while this unravelling of bleak gloominess and melancholy shrouds your soul with woeful despair...in a way that will keep you transfixed at the lofty sublimity LAZER BEAM produce here.
Bottom line; I am compelled to say that LAZER BEAM certainly outdone themselves with their debut deliverance, an offering of motivating yet marvelous transitions that supplies this ritualistic virtuoso on quintessential significance & enjoyably entertaining listens that make for a rewarding yet resounding discovery in which will make you want to replay this one a bunch of times. Worthy of a few spins!
