Lamb Of God - Wrath album cover

Ok, I guess that many of you will be digging this band's grave since it is way modern or false for you, but either you want it or not, LAMB OF GOD is one of the most authentic bands out there. I was impatiently waiting for their new album, not only because I am a huge fan, but also because I had the chance to listen to a teaser some time ago and the only thing I understood by it is that this band will never stop evolving and kicking our asses!

Formed in 1990 (although officially in 1994) in Richmond, Virginia, USA, the band was formerly known as BURN THE PRIEST and had several releases out before 1999, when their original guitarist left and was replaced by Willie Adler. The very same month they changed their name to LAMB OF GOD and began spreading the disease like only they know.

After the successful Sacrament album, I was really curious to see if LAMB OF GOD could keep up releasing high quality albums or would sometime in their career make a wrong step. As it seems, the US metallers will never disappoint us, since Wrath is one more brutal assault full of explosive energy and heavy as fuck compositions. Their sound is slightly thrashier than it was in the past, but the PANTERA meets MACHINE HEAD groove is still here. The exciting thing about LAMB OF GOD's new album is that it adds one more absolutely amazing performance by Randall Blythe. This guy is getting better and better in every album and he has overcome himself this time! Except for the classic brutal vocals and the screams, he uses some more melodic (not clean, melodic) harsh vocal lines and he shows that he is one of the best motherfuckers out there.

The drumming of the beast known as Chris Adler is kicking major ass for one more time adding some extra technique to the already technical music by LAMB OF GOD. The guitar twin is spitting the classic PANTERA style (with some extra melody) riffing and John Campbell is as kickass as you remember him to be! I really can't say anything bad about LAMB OF GOD since they have proven many times that they are one of the best brutal and modern acts around. Either you love them or you hate them. I prefer to be on the love them camp.
