La Famiglia Superstar - La Famiglia Superstar album cover

Lately, almost all of the releases I got for review, had to do with joining forces of talented musicians. Sadly, what I came to realize is that I tend to remember the names of the musicians and forget the title of the song, or of the bands that have participated in. In my humble opinion this is tragic. If you think for a while of what it used to be with the bands that became our favorites, you will realize that each of us can recall song titles from those bands, and not only. When a song is quite impressive, firstly you pay attention to the band and the song and then the names behind the band.

Unfortunately, after recent releases, I came across with specific names more than once. LA FAMIGLIA SUPERSTAR is another similar case, and it happened to be this band that gave me this kind of stimulus to write the above thoughts with this review. Actually the self-titled album is a quite good album, not only for the melodic Rock but also for the Blues/Funk lovers. It has a cover of "Here I Go Again" and kinda leads you to imagine that if Glenn Hughes would have sung that song, it would have sounded somehow like that.

Of course we are doing with professionals once again. People that took part in several projects, like Terry Illous (XYZ), Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE, DAVID LEE ROTH, TED NUGENT) and Atma Anur (TONY MACALPINE, DAVID BOWIE, RITCHIE KOTZEN, HARDLINE).

The production is fitting for the Funk/Blues sound. It could not be otherwise, when Alex Deroso (DOKKEN) has taken over it. Let me put it this way, it is a release from people who know what are they doing, know how to play with knobs in the console, and deliver a satisfying outcome. For the followers of the bands, in which each member of this project has been a member in the past, it is a decent album. Easy to listen to it, but I doubt if something will stick to your mind.
