Kreator - Violent Revolution album cover

Ok, I guess that I should be open-minded with this one. I don't know why, but I just can't.  I guess that I was expecting more... Well... Damn! I don't think I am the right person to judge Kreator's actions as a band, but I'll be damned if something's not very strange about this one...

Let's try to take a look at it. First of all, this is a Back To The Roots thing, but is it a fake one? Or just they got sick of being slow and melodic? Well melody still exists, only this time in the form of  Swedish Death Metal phase. The whole thing sounds like Comma Of Souls meets In Flames, with both old classic Thrash parts and new wave Brutal Melodic ones. The drum style is very neat, following speed and groovy rhymes and Mille's vocals are his classic way of saying: I'm here assholes, Once again I will scream about all the shit the world's been taking lately.
So far it sounds just great right?

Well here comes the smelly part. Ok, I know they got a guitarist from Finland, but why being so not they're selves? This could be a great album for a starter band, so they could be on the charts. But if you ask if this one is worth it to be The New Kreator Record, nay I say!!! The whole idea, on the record and the cover, even to the sound is just Wicked. Is it the beginning of a new era? Everything we knew is been replaced by new stuff? No one stands anymore for the style he used to? It's ok to move on to new things, see in to the future and make it your ally, but one has to know if he is capable to do it right.

Finally I reached to this conclusion. If you are a Kreator fan, or you love to hear Thrash Metal mixed with other things, this album will amaze you. Now if you are the romantic type of dude, wearing tight jeans and white shoes, spiked belts and leather jackets... Well, listen to it first, you might want to smash the cd on the wall and you shouldn't do that if it isn't yours... El Fin!

P.S: In the interview Mille tells most of the things you want to know about this release, and a lot of other interesting stuff, check it out.
